CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT – GENERAL CONTRACTORS, MUNICIPAL AGENCIES AND ENGINEERING FIRMS
  • Technical and environmental assistance to General Contractors, Municipalities and Engineering Firms for large scale infrastructure construction projects. Preferred is specifically adept in the integration of environmental requirements and remediation (as necessary) into all phases of site construction. Our superior understanding of the complexities facing construction contractors is evident and starts from the preparation of “implementable” and reasonably and cost effectively-completed environmental submittals (field sampling plans, QAPP, organic vapor monitoring plans, health and safety plans, excavation and waste handling plans, SWPP, CP, Emergency Response Plans, etc.), implementation of in-situ and ex-situ waste and soil characterization programs, hazardous material reviews, hazardous materials sampling and characterization, Worker Documentation and Community Air Monitoring, segregation of soil, waste characterization, soil management and handling plans, etc. In addition to environmental requirements, Preferred can incorporate the provision of both health and safety (Certified Safety Personnel (CSP) and Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)) and/or Environmental Professional as required on most contracts, providing a one-stop cost-effective solution.

REMEDIATION SYSTEM OPERATION, MAINTENANCE & MONITORING (OM&M) ACTIVITIES

  • Installation, Operations, Maintenance and Monitoring (OM&M) of typical and state-of-the art Remediation Systems. Preferred also provides OMM for four (4) NYS Superfund remedial systems between the last 5-10 years.  Routine services include real-time monitoring, influent and effluent monitoring, sampling, analysis and reporting.
  • Full-time OM&M of the largest SSDS system in Long Island as well as an associated groundwater pump and treatment system for chlorinated solvents.
  • Preferred has performed all phases of environmental-related remediation construction projects from the installation, operation, monitoring, repair, and maintenance of soil vapor extraction, air sparge, in-situ oxygen curtain (ISCO), skimmer pump for heavy oils, handling of regulated materials, transportation and disposal oversight, waste materials classification for purpose of off-site disposal, and the decommissioning of remediation systems.
  • Development of OM&M manuals, notifications, requirements and annual certifications and operator exams.
