Environmental consulting work performed by the firm is at the direction of its President, Ms. Jill Haimson, New York State (NYS) Licensed Professional Geologist (PG) #000075. Ms. Haimson has managed and negotiated environmental projects for more than 37 years under administrative consent orders with regulatory agencies under the New York State Navigation Law, the NCP, CERCLA, RCRA and other state and federal programs as well as remediation programs performed under local, county or state authority. She is a licensed Professional Geologist (PG) in New York (2017) and Pennsylvania (1995) and a Certified Groundwater Professional (CGWP) since 1989. Ms. Haimson has a long term and strong working relationship with local regulators and a comprehensive knowledge of regulations affecting the use, handling and storage of hazardous and non-hazardous and petroleum-impacted materials, as well as the current standards and cleanup objectives for air, surface water, dredge materials, sediment, soil and groundwater quality. Ms. Haimson also has served as an expert witness providing testimony and depositions to assist in litigation regarding environmental issues.
Additional direction for the firm is provided by its Vice President, Mr. William Schlageter, NYS PG #000222. Mr. Schlageter has more than 17 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager and Senior Hydrogeologist responsible for the Technical Management and Operations Manager of projects involving environmental insurance claims, due diligence, environmental assessment and site investigation, delineation and remediation of site contamination. Mr. Schlageter has designed and implemented more than 2,500 Environmental Site Assessments involving complex commercial and industrial properties for a multitude of clients (insurance companies, Fortune 500 companies, developers, residential, commercial, scholastic and industrial properties; health care facilities; municipally-owned properties; cellular communications facilities and heavily developed parcels undergoing extensive redevelopment). His expertise includes extensive experience navigating the complex world of regulatory negotiations, effective communication and strategy development with client and clients’ attorney and knowledge of state-of- the-art remediation technologies. Mr. Schlageter also has served as an expert witness providing testimony to assist in litigation regarding the resolution of environmental issues.
